The Coronavirus blues has continued to affect the game of football in faraway Turkey with Istanbul Basaksehir defensive midfield stalwart, Okechukwu Azubuike, saying that the fans’ absence at the stadium was cramping his style, reports.

The player, who was a substitute in a Turkish Super Lig top of the table clash which ended 1-1 against title-chasers Trabzonspor at the weekend, told from Turkey, that the spread of the dreaded virus has caused a once exciting game of football to be boring and uninteresting, especially the fact that there are no fans to cheer the players.

“A lot of players want to play with the fans cheering, and that’s a different feeling. I don’t think the momentum to win will be in us,” the former Caykur Rizespor player said.

Azubuike had a 100 percent pass success for Istanbul Basaksehir in the game and had a 6.03 rating despite coming on with just 9 minutes to go in the game.
