Kwara United FC of Ilorin attacker, Abdulsalam Abdulsalam has successfully undergone a surgery to correct a fractured bone in the injury he sustained while playing for the Harmony Boys in a Match Day 24 Nigeria Professional Football League duel against Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi, AOIFootball.com can confirm.
In an exclusive chat with the nation’s foremost online medium, AOIFootball.com, the General Manager of the Ilorin based side, Bash Badawir said the surgery became very necessary in order to revive the player’s career, adding that the current management team of the club will go the extra mile to ensure the player gets the best.
“We had to embark on the surgery at one of the topmost government facilities in the state in other to revive the boy’s career, said Bash, who has just returned from a tour of Europe.
“We’ve resolved to do all within our powers, as Management, to ensure our players are not neglected while injured.
It would be recalled that Abdulsalam Abdulsalam broke his leg in the early minutes of the game in which the Harmony Boys later won by a lone goal, and the former Rivers United FC Coordinator believes it is pure sacrifice, noting that the club will not abandon him in his trying moments.
“Abdulsalam got the injury in the early minutes of the match while trying to contribute his own quota to ensure victory for the club, he said.
“What he did was a pure sacrifice, and the Management of the club has resolved not to neglect him at such trying moments in his life,” concluded Bash.
