*Says Chukwueze has great potential
Former Super Eagles forward and current Nigeria Football Ambassador, Daniel Amokachi has picked Leicester City defensive midfield trojan Wilfred Ndidi as his best Nigerian player at the moment, insisting that the qualities he has displayed consistently in the English Premier League stands him out, AOIFootball.com reports.
The former Everton man was responding to questions from callers on his radio programme ‘ The Bull’s Pit’ on Brila FM about his top four Nigerian players and the former Super Eagles coach did not mince words on his choice.
“I would pick Ndidi first. The young man has shown tremendous quality for Leicester City and has been consistent. He is my first choice. I also would pick Victor Osimhen who plays for Lille in the French Ligue. He has been amazing and was very hot even before the break we are observing now. He knows how to score, and how to play the game and has great speed too,” Amokachi said.
The former Club Brugge goal merchant, however, charged Villarreal CF winger Samuel Chukwueze to improve in his game as he has not lived up to expectations this season but believes he has the qualities to be among the top players in the world.
Amokachi picked only three players but mentioned Sadiq Umar of Partizan Belgrade who has also been impressive this season.
