Following the one week extension of break given to the team by Nasarawa United FC as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, defensive trojan, Tebo Uchenna Franklin has called on his teammates to remain focused on the task ahead, reports.
Speaking exclusively to in Abuja, the 2018 FCT (State) League silver medalist charged his team to stay safe this period, while adhering to all safety measures by the relevant authorities, and also maintain absolute focus on their collective resolve to make their way out of their present situation in the NPFL.
“I’m calling out on my teammates to stay safe this period as we adhere to the various measures prescribed by the relevant authorities, said Franklin, who also had a brief spell at FC Vitosha Bistritsa of Bulgaria, in 2019.
“More importantly, I also want to sound a loud call to them to stay focused on the task ahead, which is, fighting our way out of the present situation we found ourselves in the league,” Franklin said.
The Nigeria Football Federation had initially suspended all football activities in the country as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the solid miners occupy the 17th position on the NPFL table with 29 points from 25 matches, but the six feet tall defender remains positive of their top-flight status at the end of the season.
“I’m optimistic that we’re going to maintain our premiership status come next season.
“We already started the process of escape by going on a match-winning streak before losing to Plateau United FC on Match Day 24, some weeks ago,” Franklin concluded.
