Former West Bromwich forward, Peter Odemwingie has said he is not surprised about the top performance displayed by Manchester United forward and fellow compatriot Odion Jude Ighalo, positing he is a hard worker, reports.

Ighalo joined the Red Devils during the winter transfer window and turned out to be an instant hit in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League appearances for the English giants and Odemwingie admits that he was earlier disappointed when the former Watford FC goal poacher moved to the less fancied Chinese Super League.

He however added that he still had faith in the competitive level and strength in the Ighalo whom he said was always working hard even in offseasons.

“I must admit I was initially surprised or would I say disappointed when he moved to China. I had my personal opinion about that though but I was always seeing him working out, exercising, running and working on treadmills during the offseason, and I would wonder, this guy is always working hard despite playing in the Chinese League.

“But when he moved to Manchester United and was doing well, I was not surprised,” Odemwingie told the Super Eagles Media team.

Odion Ighalo has scored in all three of his starts in all competitions for Manchester United, netting four goals in total.
