Super Eagles left-back, Jamilu Collins produced yet another fantastic display in the colours of German side Paderborn as they kept their hope of remaining in the Bundesliga after a 1-1 home draw against Hoffenheim, AOIFootball.com reports.
Without a win in their last 8 league games, the bottom club welcomed European chasing Hoffenheim to the Banteler Arena with Collins starting for the home team whilst German-born Nigerian hopeful Kevin Akpoguma was on the bench for the visitors.
Collins and his side however suffered the worst possible start when a defensive mixup inside the opening four minutes saw Pavel Kaderabek skip past the Nigerian on the flank before cutting back expertly into the roof of the net by Robert Skov to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Their lead was then cut short 5 minutes afterwards when another mistake in the heart of defense saw Dennis Srbeny put through on goal with the German forward curling a one time shot into the net to make it 1-1.
Both teams however failed to increase their goal tally for the remainder of the game as they settled for a share of the points, a situation which still sees Paderborn rooted to the bottom of the table with 18 points from 27 games.
Despite failing to pick maximum points, Collins still showed why he remains a standout player for Paderborn this campaign, as he produced an impressive rating of 7.0, making one huge off the line clearance, 4 interceptions, winning 3 duels and completing 76% of his passes.
