It was a day of mixed feelings for Nigerian players in the Bundesliga; there was a debut goal for former Eagles invitee Noah Joel Bazee in the colours of Augsburg, whilst it was a bad day for Taiwo Awoniyi who suffered an embarrassing loss at home to RB Leipzig, reports.

Kingsley Ehizibue: The Eagles new invitee saw 60 minutes fo action for FC Koln as they recovered from a two goals deficit to draw 2-2 at home to Fortuna Dusseldorf to keep their slim hopes of a European ticket alive.

The Nigerian started his 23rd league game of the campaign as late goals from Anthony Modeste and Jhon Còdoba canceled out early strikes from the pair of Kenan Karan and Erik Thommy

Taiwo Awoniyi and Ademola Lookman: Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi could not replicate last week’s heroics for struggling Mainz 05 as they slumped to their 16 league defeat of the campaign following an abysmal 5-0 loss at home to RB Leipzig.

The former Golden Eaglet striker was named on the bench for the second successive game for the host whilst another Nigerian hopeful Ademola Lookman was also on the bench for the visitors.

Awoniyi was however introduced at the hour mark with his side already 4-0 down whilst Lookman replaced Christopher Nkunku with 19 minutes left on the watch as his side kept their title hope alive with a huge win on the road.

Noah Bazee: The former Eagles trainee opened his season account as he came off the bench to score his side second in their 3-0 win away at Schalke 04 to move 6 points off the relegation zone.

Eduard Lowen had put the visitors ahead in the opening 6 minute before Bazee replaced Ruben Vargas on the hour mark for what was just his 4th League appearance and of the campaign.

The 23-year-old however made his presence felt with a smart finish to make it 2-0 on the 76th minute before another substitute Sergio Cordova completed the win with a well-taken finish one minute into stoppage time.
