Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi has said he wanted the Super Eagles to win against the Three Lions of England when both sides met at Wembley in a pre-World Cup warm up friendly game just before the 2018 FIFA World Cup, reports.

Iwobi played for the U16, U17 and U18 National teams of England while growing up but chose to represent Nigeria at the senior level, and when asked about how he felt scoring against England in a recent interview put together by the Super Eagles Media team on Instagram, the Everton player clearly stated that though it was weird to score against them, he focused on the Super Eagles getting the win in that game.

“I think it was a weird feeling for me to score against England at Wembley, but I was more focused on winning the game with the Super Eagles; that was what was paramount to me,” the former Arsenal star posited.

Iwobi made his debut for the Super Eagles against Egypt in 2016 after he chose to play for Nigeria his country of origin.

He has since featured 40 times for the Super Eagles, scoring 7 times for the three-time African champions.
