Turkish giants Istanbul Basaksehir are in advanced stages in their bid to sign Nigerian international Azubuike Okechukwu on a permanent deal from Egyptian side Pyramid FC, can authoritatively confirm.


The Olympic Eagles captain joined the Super Lig side on a season-long loan from the Egyptian club last summer but with his contract now set to expire next week, the club has taken the option to sign the Nigerian following his impressive debut season.


The 23-year-old midfielder has been a core part of the club’s league push this campaign haven featured In 17 of their matches so far as they close in on what could be a historic league triumph after narrowly losing the title to Galatasaray last campaign.
