Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has claimed the 2019/2020 Marc Vivien Foe awards following a superb season with French side Lille, reports.

The 21-year-old, who was named the Lille player of the season, beat Algerian forward Islam Slimani and Morocco’s Yunis Abdehamid to the award which was voted by a jury of African sports journalists in the French Championship.

With 18 goals in all competitions, the Eagles hotshot becomes the second Nigerian to win the award which started in 2009 after former Lille and Eagles shot-stopper, Vincent Enyeama.

The Nigerian however joins an exclusive list of 6 players for the Stade Pierre Mauroy to have won the Vivian Foe award with Ivorian Gervinho (2010 and 2011), Vincent Enyeama (2014), Sofiane Boufal (2016), Nicolas Pepe (2019) and Osimhen (2020).

The award will further boost the stock of the attacker who remains linked with a move away from the club with a host of top European clubs ready to do battle for his signature.
