Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun showed why class is permanent when he produced an almost perfect afternoon in the colours of Rangers as they began their 2020/2021 league season with a 1-0 win away at Aberdeen, reports.

The 32-year-old recently joined the Ibrox side as a free agent but despite only training for less than six days with the club, he was named among the starting XI alongside Connor Goldson for the trip to the Pittodrie Stadium.

A first-half strike from Ryan Kent was however enough to lead Rangers to victory with Balogun particularly impressive at the back as he kept his first clean sheet for the club.

The former Mainz 05 defender finished with a game rating of 7.3, the third-best of any Rangers player on the pitch, winning 9 duels, making 3 clearances, completing 88% of his passes and also making one key tackle and block shot

”Happy to have made my full competitive debut and start the season with 3 points and a clean sheet,” Balogun posted afterwards.
