Nigerian players continued their dominance in the Latvian League with striker Tolu Arokodare taking his goals tally to double figures following his brace against Dele Alampasu in Ventspils, whilst the duo of Pam Samuel and Richard Emeka Friday were also in target, reports.


Idowu David Akintola, Joshua Akpudje, Olabanjo Ogunji, Emeka Basil and Pam Samuel: Former MFM defender Joshua Akpudje started in the heart of the defense alongside David Akintola for Daugava Daugavpils whilst the trio of Emeka Basil, Pam Samuel and Olabanjo Ogunji all started for FK Tukums.


19-year-old Pam Samuel however stole the show among the 5 Nigerians on parade as he scored his first goal of the campaign to put the visitors ahead in the second half with the host however equalizing 11 minute from time as the game ended 1-1.


Tolu Arokodare, Olaide Badmus, Dele Alampasu and Christian Pyagbara: In form striker Tolu Arokodare moved to the top of the scorers chart in Belgium as he scored twice in the colors of Valmeria FK as they defeated Ventspils 3-0 with Dele Alampasu in goal for the visitors.


Jorge Teixeira opened scoring for the host three minute after the hour mark before a brawl occurred which saw the referee dishing out three red cards with Teixeira himself and two other Ventspils players getting their marching orders.


Arokodare then turned up the heat in the second period when he doubled his side lead in the 56th minute to make it 2-0 before he then completed his brace three minute after the hour mark from the spot to complete a 3-0 win.


The goal now takes his tally to 9 goals in the Virsliga having just played 11 games this campaign.


Richard Emeka Friday: The 20-year-old grabbed what proved to be a mere consolation goal for FK Liepaja who lost 4-1 at home to Riga FC as the host their sixth league loss of the campaign to remain in relegation waters.


The young striker was one of 5 Nigerians on parade for the hosts with Seidu Yahaya and Dele Ola Israel also starting whilst new signing Abdullahi Alfa and Effiong Ukpa were both introduced in the second period of the game.
