Former Golden Eaglets captain, Kelechi Nwakali will return to training for Spanish side Huesca later this weekend after his coronavirus test returned negative, reports.

The 22-year-old has been out of action for a couple of weeks after a teammate whom he had close contact with tested positive to Covid-19 with Nwakali going on the mandatory self-isolation which kept him out for almost two weeks.

However, following a fresh test conducted after the isolation the former Arsenal youth player has now been cleared to return to action and he is now set to return to full training with the rest of the squad this weekend.

The Nigerian missed his side’s last three league fixtures and will be keen to return to action with Huesca still in search of their first win this campaign despite positive results against Villareal and Atletico Madrid.

Huesca next takes on Elche on matchday 5 of the Spanish LaLiga, a game which might come too soon for Nwakali with a possible return to action during the international break.
