Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo produced yet another near perfect display for LaLiga 2 side Leganes as they continued their steady move up the table after beating UD Logrones 1-0, AOIFootball.com reports.
Fresh from earning a half a century cap for Nigeria, Omeruo, who turned 27 on Saturday, started in the heart of Leganes’ defence in what was his third league game of the season for the promotion chasers.
The visitors were however made to do plenty of the defending from the blast of the whistle with Omeruo particularly impressive before Leganes were awarded a golden opportunity from the spot on the half hour by the Video Assistant Referee.
Striker Borja Baston took the responsibility as he stepped up to convert for 1-0 much to the delight of the away team who held the lead going into the half time break.
But just like the first 45 minutes, the visitors were made to do plenty of defending and they had Omeruo to thank as he help them claim their third win of the campaign following an excellent display at the back.
The former Chelsea man was rightly adjudged the man of the match with a rating of 8.1, making a game high 7 clearances which included a goal line clearance, making 6 tackles, winning 10 duels and also completing 100% of his dribbles.
