Former Super Eagles, forward Anthony Nwakaeme produced arguably his best performance of the season yet, as he scored twice and assisted another in Trabzonspor’s 3-4 home loss to Kasimpasa, AOIFootball.com reports.
Having suffered consecutive losses in their last 3 league outings, the hosts were hoping to halt a run of 4 games without a win, whilst Nwakaeme was hoping to net his second league goal of the campaign.
Their hopes were however dashed with just 8 minutes of play when the visitors took the lead via the boots of Mickael Tirpan before the ever-lively Nwakaeme restored parity on the 23rd minute when he set up Serkan Asan.
The Eagles forward then got into the act just after the hour mark as he scored from a well taken shot outside of the box to make it 2-1 before he then held off his marker seven minutes later before firing home to make it 3-1.
Yusuf Erdogan then pulled one back for the visitors with Trabzonspor holding a slender 3-2 lead going into the half time break.
However, things got bad during the closing stages of the game as the hosts capitulated when Edgar Lee fired into his own goal three minutes from time to make it 3-3 before a late strike deep into added time from Bengali-Fode Koita sealed all three points for Kasimpasa.
The results however leave Trabzonspor in the relegation zone as they occupy 18th position with just 5 points, having just won one of their opening 7 league games.
