Super Eagles duo of Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers sent out a strong message to head coach Gernot Rohr as they both scored on Friday night to help KRC Genk to a comfortable 4-0 win at home to KAS Eupen, AOIFootball.com reports.
Having been excluded from the Eagles list for next month’s doubleheader qualifiers against Sierra Leone, the Belgium-based duo started for the first time together this campaign with Genk hoping to stretch their unbeaten run to six games.
They however needed just 5 minutes to net the game’s first goal when lanky forward Onuachu stepped up to convert from 12 yards to take his league tally for the campaign to an impressive 9 goals.
The 26-year-old was then involved again two minutes into the second half as he set up his compatriot Cyriel Dessers to make it 2-0, his third goal of the campaign.
Theo Bongonda then made it 3-0 for the hosts on 74 minutes before the Belgian midfielder completed his brace eight minutes from time to seal a comfortable 4-0 win for the hosts who move up to 4th on the log.
