Super Eagles wing-back, Ola Aina scored his first-ever Premier League goal in what was his 51st attempt as his newly-promoted Fulham side defeated fellow newcomers West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at the Craven Cottage, reports.

In a match with plenty of Nigerian interests, the on-loan Torino full-back started for the hosts alongside pacy winger Ademola Lookman with lanky center-back Semi Ajayi starting for the visitors who were also in search of their first league win.

The visitors almost took an early lead when Townsend’s cross caught goalkeeper Alphonse Areola out but, luckily for them the ball struck the crossbar.

Despite the early pressure, it was Fulham who took the lead when Antonee Robinson’s cross picked out Mitrovic at the far post, and the striker nodded the ball back across goal for Decordova-Reid to turn home.

Minutes later, Fulham doubled their lead through Aina, and it was a stunner, Decordova-Reid, and Mitrovic combined again before the Nigerian struck from just outside the penalty area past the dive of Sam Johnstone and into the top corner for 2-0.

The second half however slowed down a bit with Fulham happy to defend their 2-0 lead before a late goal clearance from Ajayi denied the impressive Reid a second goal on the night.

As expected Aina clinched the man of the match award with a rating of 7.7, with Ademola Lookman also finishing with a rating of 7.1 whilst Ajayi stood firm despite the defeat as he earned a rating of 7-1.
