Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen returned to action in style as he scored his side’s only goal in their 1-0 league outing away at Bologna to sign off for the last international week, reports.

Having missed out on Thursday’s Europa League clash due to suspension, the former Lille striker returned to the starting XI with Napoli also hoping to get their domestic campaign back on track after suffering a shock 2-0 loss last weekend at home to Sassuolo.

In a game of few chances, the first real opportunity of the match fell to the visitors who broke swiftly from a counter however Dries Martens’ attempt to bend the ball around the post fell short with Belgium forward-firing wide tin the process.

Napoli did however go ahead with the next move when Hirving Lozano intercepted a pass from the Bologna defense before he then fed Osimhen who had to be well-positioned as he headed home his second league goal for the campaign an put the Azzuri 1-0 up.

Napoli then had the ball in the back of the net six minutes into the second half via the boots of Kalidou Koulibaly but the VAR disallowed the goal after Osimhen appeared to have handled the ball just before it fell to the Senegalese man.

The visitors then had goalkeeper David Ospina to thank as he produced an impressive save to deny Rodrigo Palacios at the dead with Napoli sealing all three points which takes them back to 3 on the league standings.

Osimhen who was replaced in the closing stages had a game rating of 7.6, winning 7 duels, making 1 key pass, and also completing 55% of his passes attempted.
