The Camp of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has officially opened ahead of Friday’s AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone in Benin, with inspirational skipper Ahmed Musa leading the early arrivals, AOIFootball.com reports.
The former Kano Pillars winger who recently ended his stint with Saudi Arabia club, Al Nasr leads the pack with former club teammate and on-form striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Other players in camp include goalkeeper Maduka Okoye who was brilliant over the weekend, birthday boy Oghenekaro Etebo and striker Paul Onuachu who was handed a late callup to replace injured Moses Simon.
Meanwhile, Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr who is already in the country, has called up Omonia Nicosia defender Abdullahi Shehu as a replacement for FC Midtjylland midfielder Frank Onyeka with the German tactician having just two midfielders in his 24-man squad.
Nigeria will host the first leg of the clash In Benin on Friday before travelling for the return leg four days later, knowing that a win in both games will all but secure qualification to the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon.
