Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze proved to be the game-changer for Spanish side Villarreal as he came off the bench to snatch a point against defending champions Real Madrid at the Estadio de la Ceramica, reports.

The pacey forward was only good for the bench after returning from the international break with Nigeria as the Yellow Submarines hoped to extend their incredible unbeaten run to an amazing 11 games in all competitions.

They however got the worst possible start as they fell behind inside the opening 90 seconds when Dani Carvajal set up Mariano Diaz with the forward tucking home his first goal for the club to make it 1-0.

Villarreal however dominated proceedings afterwards but failed to find the breakthrough goal before head coach Unai Emery turned to Chukwueze after the hour mark to replace the surprisingly quite Carlos Bacca.

The Nigerian made the most of the substitution 14 minutes from the time when he took the ball past the on-rushing Courtois in Madrid goal bringing down the Nigerian for a penalty.

Gerard Moreno stepped up and converted the resulting penalty to seal a vital one point which sees Villarreal remain unbeaten after seven games, a result that also sees them open a two-point gap ahead of Real Madrid and stay 3rd in the league standings.
