Super Eagles midfielder, Frank Onyeka was the match hero for Danish side FC Midtjylland as he scored one and assisted another to help them to a 2-1 win away at AGF to take them to the summit of the table, reports.

Having pulled out from Nigeria’s double header AFCON qualifiers due to injury, the 22-year-old recovered in time for the visit to Ceres Park with the visitors hoping to record their 6th win of the campaign.

Following a rather cagey opening 20 minutes, the visitors were rewarded for their consistent threat as they took the lead half way into the clash when Onyeka fired home for 1-0.

The Nigerian was then involved again few minutes later when he doubled his side’s lead, this time turning provider for Sory Kaba who fired home to make it 2-0 for Midtjylland.

The hosts then pulled a goal back after the hour mark from the spot but the visitors held on for the remainder of the game to claim a hard-fought 2-1 win to set up a perfect tune for their Champions League away game at Ajax on Wednesday.

The Nigerian was rightly adjudged the man of the match as he finished with a rating of 8.2, won 8 duels, made 2 clearances and also completed 69% of his passes.
