Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye continued to show why he deserves to be the country’s first-choice shot-stopper after he produced another fine display in the colours of Sparta Rotterdam in their 1-0 loss away at PSV Eindhoven, reports.

Now the undisputed number one at the Dutch club, the 21-year-old started his 4th successive league game as the visitors had their hands full against one of the league’s best sides.

The Nigerian was however the busiest of the two goalkeepers as he had to be alert for the most part of the first period with both teams going into the break scoreless as PSV looked the better of the two sides.

The second half was even more tasking for the Nigerian who had to be prompt a few seconds after the restart as he kept out Adrien Fien from putting the host ahead and repeated the same feat on the hour mark when he kept out substitute Noni Madueke from opening scoring.

Okoye then made his biggest save of the night when he dived down his right to save a penalty from Donyell Malen but was however helpless when the Dutch forward turned home the rebound to put the host 1-0 up.

The former Fortuna Dusseldorf goalkeeper did produce two more impressive saves in the closing stages with the host left frustrated in their attempt to double their lead as the game ended 1-0 at the Philip Stadium.

As expected, the Eagles goalie was rated the best player on the pitch with a rating of 7.7, making 5 saves which included one penalty but completed a below-par 35% of his passes on the night.
