Nigerian striker, David Okereke was the match hero for Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge as he came off the bench to score the game’s only goal in their slim 1-0 win at home to Sint-Truidense, AOIFootball.com reports.

Predominantly used from the bench, the 23-year-old who has only started just 4 league games this campaign, was again made to start from the bench with fellow Eagle Emmanuel Dennis a preferred choice to lead the line for the defending champions.

But despite hugely dominating the first half in terms of ball possession and chances created the host were left frustrated in their effort to find an opener with both teams going into the break goalless.

With a chance to move up the table with a win, Emmanuel Dennis made way for Okereke five minutes after the restart with head coach Philippe Clement very much interested in picking up a maximum point.

The former Spezia of Italy forward however are an instant impact just less than 90 seconds after coming in as he broke the deadlock to give his side a 1-0 win and seal all three points on the night.

The win momentarily takes Club Brugge to the summit of the table with 30 points from 15 games, two ahead of second-place Beerschoot who have played a game less.
