Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu edges closer to training with French club Bordeaux after stepping up his recovery from the injury he suffered a fortnight ago, can authoritatively report.

The former KAA Genk winger only suffered an injury during the October international break but returned to action last month after missing well over one month of action with the French Ligue 1 side.

However, his return to action lasted just 60 minutes in the win away at Stade Rennes as he suffered a relapse which saw him miss clashes against PSG and Stade Brestois 29.

The 23-year-old however confirmed to that he nears a return to action and can’t wait to get back and continue to help the club push for a place in Europe next season.

Meanwhile, the winger had shrugged off transfer speculations linking him with a move to China despite what he described as a tempting offer from the CSL, saying he is well focused on getting back to full fitness with Bordeaux.

Kalu was a subject of a loan move this summer to Turkish giants Fenerbahce but Bordeaux insisted the player was a key figure and won’t be allowed to leave the Matmunt Atlantique.
