Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon was on the score sheet for French side FC Nantes as they ended a run of 2 successive league losses to draw 1-1 at home to visiting Dijon, AOIFootball.com reports.
In his first game in charge following the sack of former coach Christian Gourcuff, Patrick Collot handed the Eagles winger his 9th league start of the campaign as they hoped to arrest a run of four games without a win.
The hosts however got their noses in front after just 22 minutes when Jonathan Panzo brought down Renaud Emond with Moses Simon stepping up to convert for 1-0.
The goal did bring out the best from Dijon who took hold of the game afterwards but the hosts held strong as they went into the break with a 1-0 slim advantage.
Dijon did continue with their pressure in the second half and deservedly pulled level when Didier N’Dong found Moussa Konate and the Senegalese forward made no mistake to tuck home for 1-1 just before the hour mark.
Despite testing their benches in the closing exchanges, both teams failed to find a winner as they settled for a point with the result enough to keep Nantes four points off the relegation zone.
Simon, who was on for the entire match duration, had a game rating of 7.3, completed two of his 3 dribbles, 76% of his passes, and also made one key interception and tackle.
