Nigerian striker Anthony Okpotu opened his season account in the Qatari Stars League with a bang as he scored twice for Qatar SC in their 3-1 away win at Al-Sailiya to continue their impressive run in recent weeks, reports.

The former NPFL goal king made his first impact in the league last campaign as he bagged his first assist of the season and kept his place in the starting XI as the visitors made a trip to Doha for the matchday 9 clash.

It however took the former US Monastir forward 11 minutes to open the scoring as he lashed on to a defense-splitting pass from Youssef Belaili before he then showed quick mental awareness to tuck home for 1-0.

The 26-year-old then doubled his side’s lead seven minutes later as he scored with a carbon copy of the first when he received the ball from Belaili before rounding off the goalkeeper and then firing into an empty net for 2-0.

Kara Mbodji however pulled one back for the hosts just at the dot of halftime with Qatar SC taking. 2-1 lead going into half time.

Okpotu then made way for Omar Al Emdi on 78 minutes before Youssef Belaili ensured the points were safe as he scored two minutes from time to seal a comfortable 3-1 win.
