Nigerian international, Taiwo Awoniyi was on the score sheet for the third consecutive away game in the colours of Union Berlin as they were forced to a 2-2 draw away at VfB Stuttgart’s Mercedes Benz Arena, reports.

On the back of an impressive home draw against heavyweights Bayern Munich, Union Berlin made an impressive start to the clash when Marvin Friedrich headed home the opener after just four minutes to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Awoniyi then doubled his side’s lead in the second period as he headed home superbly from a Christopher Lenz cross to put Berlin 2-0 up after 76 minutes.

The hosts however produced a late fightback to deny Awoniyi and his team all three points with substitutes Sasa Kalajdžić scoring twice in the space of four minutes to force a 2-2 draw.

Awoniyi, who featured for the entire 90 minutes, finished with a rating of 7.2, with Berlin moving up to 7th on the log standings with 18 points from 12 games.
