Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu continued his amazing season with Belgian club KRC Genk as he took his tally for the season to an incredible 20 league strikes in their 1-1 draw at home to KAA Gent, AOIFootball.com reports.
With speculations linking the lanky forward to a big move to French side Lyon this winter, the league’s top scorer who had a rare blank outing last weekend away at Royal Mouscron started his 20th league game with the host hoping to close the gap on leaders Club Brugge.
The 26-year-old however needed just seven minutes to lay down his marker as he finished off a Theo Bongonda assist to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
A moment of madness then saw Carlos Cuesta get his marching orders for Genk with Onuachu making way afterward as the hosts made a tactical substitution to accommodate the red card.
Roman Yaremchuk then made sure his side profited from their numerical advantage when he equalized on the dot of half time to make it 1-1.
The hosts then had a golden opportunity 20 minutes from time to seal all three points but Belgian midfielder Bongonda failed to keep his spot-kick on target as both sides settled for a share of the points.
