Former CHAN Eagles forward, Gabriel Okechukwu has completed a move to Japanese League side Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo from Morocco’s Wydad Athletic, reports.

The former Akwa United striker signed a four-year contract worth around 2 million dollars per year and will team up with the Japanese league side ahead of the new season which begins next month.

The 25-year-old began his career at Water FC before moving to Europe in 2016 where he played for Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv, but however returned to Nigeria less than 12 months ago to join NPFL side, Akwa United.

Following a successful CHAN tournament where he helped the CHAN Eagles to a second-place finish, the lanky forward joined Wydad in 2018 before leaving the club following the expiration of his contract.

Sapporo finished 10th in the J. league last campaign and will now hope the arrival of the Eagles star will further boost their chances in the league this season.
