Nigerian international, Emmanuel Dennis had a bitter-sweet night for new club DC Koln as he scored his first goal and then missed a penalty in their cup loss to second-tier SSV Jahn Regensburg, reports.

Having joined on loan from Club Brugge, the 23-year-old started his second game for the club as they traveled to Regensburg for their round of 16 Cup clash with fellow Nigerian Tolu Arokodare named on the bench for the visitors.

Ismail Jakobs opened the scoring for the Bundesliga side after just four minutes into the clash before Dennis doubled his side lead 18 minutes later when he cut onto his left foot before firing into the bottom of the net to put his side 2-0 up.

Substitute Scott Kennedy then reduced the deficit by one, five minutes after the half-hour mark before Jann George ensured both teams went into the break level when he made it 2-2 just before the break.

Dennis then had a golden opportunity to seal the win for the visitors 18 minutes from time but his lackluster penalty was well saved by goalkeeper Alexander Meyer to send the game into extra time.

The Eagles forward was then replaced in extra time by Tolu Arokodare but it was the hosts who emerged victorious in penalty shootouts as they won 4-3 to reach the quarterfinals of the German Cup.
