Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo produced a near-perfect outing for Spanish second division side Leganes in their hard-fought 0-2 win away at Girona, reports.

With just four points separating both sides, the hosts were out to close the gap on Leganes with the visitors seeking a win to move them back into playoffs contention.

Omeruo on the other hand was starting his 12th league game of the campaign but both sides stood firm in the first period with the game ending goalless at the break.

Second-half substitutes Kevin Bua proved to be the difference between both sides when he broke the deadlock five minutes after coming on before he then completed his brace deep into added time to seal all 3 points for the visitors.

Omeruo, who played the entire minutes of the game had a game rating of 7.4, made 5 interceptions 3 clearances, won 4 of his duels and also completed 90% of his passes to record his third clean sheet of the campaign.

Elsewhere at the La Rosaleda in Malaga, midfielder James Igbekeme scored his second goal of the season as his Real Zaragoza side moved out of the relegation zone following a 2-1 win away at Girona.

The 25-year-old opened scoring after just 11 minutes before Carlos Vigaray made it 2-0 to the visitors just before half time.

Luis Munoz then pulled one back eight minutes from time but the goal proved to just be a consolation as Zaragoza held on for their 7th win of the season.
