Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu continued to show why he is by far the most on-form Nigerian striker in the world, as he scored his 22nd goal to help Genk to a 1-0 cup win over Saint Truidense VV, reports.

On the back of a disappointing 1-2 league loss at home to Anderlecht, the hosts sent out a strong starting XI with Onuachu leading the line whilst compatriot Cyriel Dessers remained on the bench for what is now a norm for him.

The first half however failed to produce any sparkling moments with both teams playing too deep as they went into the break goalless after the first 45 minutes.

The second half did change a bit with the hosts upping the tempo a bit but the visitors, however, remained resolute as they defended well to stop any Ariel threat from the lanky Onuachu.

But just when the game was almost heading towards extra-time, Onuachu had other ideas when he scored three minutes from time to seal the win and send his side into the quarterfinals of the Belgium Cup.

The strike now means the 26-year-old has now equaled his best-ever scoring run in a single season (23 goals), a feat he achieved during the 2016/2017 season with FC Midtjylland.
