Super Eagles full-back, Shehu Abdullahi is excited after fully settling into the Cyprus 1st Division and making a near-perfect start to life at new club Omonia Nicosia, reports.

Speaking to ahead of their weekend clash away at Ermis Aradippou, the versatile player who has been ever-present for the club since joining in October, further stated that their experience in the Europa League has also helped them do well in the league.

“The season has been good for me and the team. I think I settled down as quickly as possible but kudos to the coaching staff, my teammates, and the club management. After quarantine and medical process, I was listed for a game and since then I have been working hard to contribute to the team’s success.

“We had a good run in the Europa League and the experience has helped us this season. We are pushing for the League title and we hit 50 points in our last match, but we have to keep the momentum and continue to fight,” Abdullahi said.

The former Kano Pillars man has featured in 18 league games this season for Omonia Nicosia, winning 11 games, drawing 5, and suffering just 2 defeats. He has also contributed 38 of his side’s 50 league points.
