Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi produced another man of the match display in the colours of Leicester City to help them keep their slim title ambitions alive following a 3-1 thrashing of defending champions Liverpool, reports.

Off the back of a last-minute FA Cup win against Brighton, the hosts looked to leapfrog second-placed Manchester United whilst Liverpool were aiming for their first win in 3 outings.

The visitors dominated the first half of the encounter and were forced to a first-half sub when Thiago Alcantara was forced off with an injury with James Milner replacing the Spaniard with the half ending goalless.

Liverpool however went on to find the breakthrough when a sweet back flick from Roberto Firminho set up Mohammed Salah with the Egyptian curling home with his left foot for 1-0.

The goal did bring out the best from the hosts who leveled on 77 minutes after when a James Maddison free-kick found its way into the post to make it 1-1 before a mistake in the Liverpool backline allowed Vardy to tap home three minutes later for 2-1.

Ndidi then ensured the points was safe when his swift pass from the midfield set up Harvey Barnes with the winger keeping his cool before curling round Alison to make it 3-1 and seal a perfect week for the Foxes.

A dominant Ndidi was rightly adjudged the man of the match with a rating of 8.0, making a league-high of 19 recoveries, made 5 clearances, 3 blocked shots, and also made 5 key tackles.
