Super Eagles midfielder, Joe Aribo has been named the Scottish Premier League Team of the Week after a scintillating performance at the weekend which saw him score one and assisted another in Rangers’ 4-1 win over Dundee United, reports.

The 24-year-old produced a man of the match as Rangers continued their surge in the Scottish league has now gone 30 league games without a single loss in the league so far.

Aribo provided the assist for the first goal before he then scored a potential goal of the month with a fierce shot from the edge of the box as Rangers open an incredible 18 points gap ahead of second-place Celtic.

“A top-class performance from the midfielder was the inspiration behind Rangers’ 4-1 victory over Dundee United on Sunday as Steven Gerrard’s men moved closer to the title. The Nigerian international not only dazzled with his play on the ball, but he also scored an excellent goal and is this week’s star man,” the SPFL wrote about him.

The midfielder was however the only Rangers player in the team, with Ross County, Hibernian, and St. Johnston producing two players each in the best XI.

Aribo has now been involved in 10 league goals this campaign for the Steven Gerrard tutored side (6 goals 4 assists) after 23 games, a huge improvement from the 3 goals he scored in the 2019/2020 season.
