Super Eagles forward, Samuel Kalu scored his fourth goal of the season for struggling Bordeaux as they fell to yet another defeat, losing 2-1 at home to Metz, reports.

Without a win in their last six games, the hosts were hoping to arrest their abysmal form in 2021 as they faced an in-form Metz with Samuel Kalu starting his 11th league game of the campaign.

The 23-year-old however gave them a fantastic start when he scored after just 14 minutes, turning home from a Youssouf Sabaly assist.

Down but not out, the visitors turned to their bench in the second half as they switched tactics with a double substitution as Vagner Dias and Vincent Pajot were introduced.

Those substitutions will then go on to make the difference as the visitors equalized from Thomas Delaine before Vagner Dias scored the winner in additional time to seal all three points for the visitors.

Kalu, who was replaced on 76 minutes for Hatem Ben Arfa, finished with a rating of 6.6 and has now equaled the goals tally of two previous Ligue 1 seasons, in just 16 games.
