Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye produced yet another outstanding display for Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam as he kept yet another clean sheet to help them to a 1-0 away win at VVV-Venlo, reports.

In what was a rescheduled matchday 21 fixture, the visitors were in search of their first league win in 9 games having last won away at Fortuna Sittard in January, a run which saw them suffer 5 losses.

Rotterdam was by far the better of the two sides in the opening half and were very unlucky not to be ahead at the break, with Okoye having a less busy day at the office yet.

The second half was however different for the Eagles shot-stopper as he had to be at his best twice in the opening stages to keep his side in the game and deny the hosts the lead.

But with 20 minutes left in normal time, the visitors’ pressure finally gave them the much-deserved breakthrough when Kristopher Da Graca put through his own goal to give Rotterdam a 1-0 lead and seal all three points on the night.

The 21-year-old, who was adjudged the best player on the pitch, kept his 6th clean sheet of the campaign, earning a game rating of 7.7, making 5 key saves, 1 high claim and also winning 100% of his duels.

The win now moves Sparta Rotterdam up to 12 on the standings with 27 points from 25 games, 9 points ahead of 16th placed Willem II with their chances for survival now very much in their own hands.
