Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has made adjustments to his 24-man provisional list for this month’s AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho, replacing Samuel Kalu who picked up an injury at the weekend, with Galatasary winger, Henry Onyekuru, AOIFootball.com reports.
Kalu lasted just 16 minutes in Bordeaux’s 3-1 win away at Dijon after picking up an injury with further assessments ruling him out of both clashes.
On-form Henry Onyekuru was originally placed on standby since earning his first call-up to the National Team in 2019 at the AFCON in Egypt.
Onyekuru was at his brilliant best at the weekend when he came off the bench to score twice for Galatasaray in their 3-0 win away at Kayserispor to keep them within leaders Besiktas.
Since making his debut in June 2017, the 23-year-old has featured in 11 games for Nigeria, the last coming at the 2019 AFCON semifinal loss to Algeria in Cairo.
