Super Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr has been forced to make yet another alteration to his 24-man list for the upcoming games against Benin Republic and Lesotho following the withdrawal of Almeria forward Umar Sadiq, AOIFootball.com reports.
Having already lost the duo of Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu via injury and club restrictions, the German will also now be without his new invitee with NPFL hotshot Anayo Iwuala taking the place of the Rio 2916 Olympic medalist.
Rohr had already called up striker Paul Onuachu and winger Henry Onyekuru have all been primarily placed on standby with the German now hoping that more players do not pull out in the coming days due to restrictions.
“Anayo Iwuala to replace Sadiq Umar for Benin Rep. and Lesotho clashes,” a statement on the NFF social media handle said.
Leaders Nigeria will travel to Benin on the 27th of this month to take on the Squirrel of Benin Republic before hosting Lesotho three days later at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, needing just one solitary point from both games to seal progression.
