Nigerian international, Kelechi Nwakali scored his first goal of the campaign for survival chasers Alcorcon on Tuesday night as they continued their push for safety in the Spanish Second Division following their 1-1 home draw against Real Oviedo, AOIFootball.con reports.

Starting his 9th successive league game for the hosts, the former Arsenal youth prodigy needed just 63 seconds to register his first goal as he struck superbly from outside the box with his right foot to leave goalkeeper Joan Femenias stranded for 1-0.

The goal did however bring out the best from the visitors but Alcorcon held on strongly as they headed into the break with the slim lead.

The visitors however replied after the restart with a triple substitution on the hour mark, as Argentine forward Gustavo Blanco rescued the visitors six minutes from time with both sides sharing the spoils of the point at the end of the game.

Nwakali, who featured for 88 minutes, ended with a game rating of 7.6, completed 100% of his take-ons, 76% of his passes, and also made one key interception.

The point takes Alcorcon off the relegation zone to 18th position with 32 points, one point ahead of 19th placed Sabadell who have played one game less.
