The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has made public the itinerary of the men’s senior national team, the Super Eagles as they begin the quest to reach their seventh World Cup, reports.

Having negotiated their way past qualification for the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon, the Gernot Rohr-led Eagles will begin their campaign during the weekend of 31 May – 15 June where they host fellow West African side Liberia before making a trip a few days later to the Central African Republic for their matchday 2 fixtures.

Rohr and his boys will then face a tough double header against Cape Verde on the weekend of 30 August – 7 September, with Nigeria hosting the first leg in a yet-to-be-decided venue before making the trip to the Island for the second leg.

The Eagles will however wrap off the qualifiers in October when they play the reverse fixtures against Liberia away at Libreville before hosting the Central African Republic a few days later in what will be their final game of the qualifying series.

Should the Eagles finish top of their standings after six matches, the 3-time African champions will then be involved in a final home and away qualifiers in November as the winner over both legs will progress to the World Cup proper in Qatar.
