Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has signed a new contract with English giants Leicester City till the summer of 2024, reports.

The 24-year-old joined the Foxes from Premier League giants Manchester City in the summer of 2017, but following stellar performances in the past few weeks, the Nigerian has now been rewarded with a new deal.

Speaking shortly after signing the dotted lines, the 2013 FIFA U-17 golden ball winner, who was delighted with the new deal, stated that he will continue to work hard to help the club excel.

“I’m excited, happy, and overwhelmed! It’s a great moment and I’m happy that Leicester City gave me a new contract.

“It’s been a great time here. It’s not been easy, but there’s a lot of people here that are great to work with. They are nice people and they make me feel comfortable and welcome since I came in.

“It’s been really great being here. It’s like a family. I’m happy being here and hopefully I can stay here many more years,” Iheanacho said.

Asked about his best moments in the club, he stated that it was a tough choice, but helping the team reach their first FA Cup semifinals in 39 years tops the list of his greatest moments.

“It’s difficult to pick. I wanted to choose my hat-trick against Sheffield United but I am going to go for the one that qualified Leicester City for the first time in many years for the FA Cup semifinals.

“That has been their yearning for years, so I will take that as the best moment because the fans have been waiting for a long time. It’s a great opportunity for us to go and see if we can do more by getting to the final and winning the Cup,” Iheanacho concluded.

Iheanacho has scored 32 goals in 117 appearances for the Foxes, enjoying the best scoring form of his career with 7 goals in his last 4 games, a feat which saw him win the Premier League Player of the Month (March).
