Super Eagles forward, Simy Nwankwo continued his fantastic form in front of goal as he scored for the sixth consecutive league game for relegation bound Crotone as they suffered yet another 3-2 loss away Spezia, AOIFootball.com reports.
In what was a half of few chances, Ivorian defender Koffi DJidji opened scoring for the visitors against the run of play, five minutes from the break as Crotone took a 1-0 half-time lead at the Stadio Alberto Picco.
The hosts however found their bearing in the second period and equalized after the hour mark via Daniele Verde before the lanky Simy restored parity for the visitors when he tapped home a Niccolo Zanellato cross to fire home his 16th league goal of the campaign.
The hosts overturned the game at the tail end as they scored two goals in the 89th and 92nd to hand Crotone their 23rd league loss of the campaign.
Simy did finish the game with a rating of 6.9, as he moves up to 4th on the scorers’ chart, one goal more than the trio of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lorenzo Insigne, and Laturo Martinez who have all scored 15 goals.
