Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon surpassed his last season’s mark for goals in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon as he scored one and assisted another for relegation fighters Nantes in their 4-1 thrashing of Stade Brest to remain in the playoffs spot, reports.

Having set up the winner in last weekend’s win away at Strasbourg, the 25-year-old was hoping for a similar performance at the Stade Francis-Le Ble with defeat almost certain to drop them to the lower division next season.

Moses however calmed their nerves with just 15 minutes into the clash when he tapped home from close range following a slip by the goalkeeper who failed to handle the ball from a Kalifa Coulibaly strike.

French midfielder Ludovic Blas then made it 2-0 to Nantes before Simon set up Imran Louza 11 minutes after the break to put the visitors 3-0 up and leave them well on their way to victory.

Kalifa Coulibaly then ensured the game was wrapped for Nantes when he made it 4-0 from 12 yards but the hosts pulled one back seven minutes from time via the boots of Romain Faivre with the game ending in a one-sided 4-1 contest.

Simon, who bettered his record of 5 goals from his debut season by netting his 6th of the campaign, was rightly named the man of the match with Nantes now having 3 huge games to save their season and avoid dropping to Ligue 2.
