Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen scored for the fourth consecutive game in the Italian Serie A to hand Napoli Champions League lifeline following their 4-1 thrashing of Spezia, AOIFootball.com reports.

Having been stretched off in last week’s draw at home to Cagliari after an injury to the head, the 22-year-old was given the all-clear to lead the line for the Napolitans in what was a must-win game.

Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski got them off to a perfect start when he put them ahead in the 15th minute before he then set up Osimhen with a perfect through ball with the Nigerian doing the rest of the work as he raced through to fire home his fourth goal in four starts.

Osimhen then grabbed his second of the game and his first brace in Napoli colours just before the break when he controlled a lofted ball from Lorenzo Insigne before firing into the net for his 10th league goal of the campaign.

Roberto Piccoli then pulled one back for the hosts after the hour mark to make it 3-1 but Osimhen restored his side’s three-goal lead when he set up Hirving Lozano to seal a perfect 4-1 win.

The former Lille striker was rightly awarded the man of the match with a game rating of 9.0 as he now becomes the 4th Nigerian player to reach double digits for goals in Europe’s top 5 league.

Napoli are now momentarily up to second on the log but will now need the trio of Juventus, AC Millan, and Atalanta to drop points this weekend to remain in the top four.
