Super Eagles striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu ended the 2020/2021 season in superb style as he clinched both the best player and the golden boot award at the Belgian Pro League Awards at the JAM Hotel in Brussels, AOIFootball.com reports.
In what was a near-perfect season for the Nigerian, the lanky forward saw off competition from Club Brugge’s Noa Lang and Beerschot’s striker Raphael Holzhauser to win the player of the year gong.
The 26-year-old scored an incredible 33 goals in only 38 league games and scored 35 goals in total to help Genk win the Belgian Cup and secure a Champions League qualification spot having finished behind leaders Club Brugge.
His exploits this season earned him a recall to the National team last March and has also seen him become a constant name in the lips of plenty of European clubs who look to lure the striker away from Belgium in the summer transfer market.
Both awards are a recognition of Onuachu’s record-breaking campaign in the Belgian top-flight for KRC Genk in the just-concluded season.
