Nigeria’s senior female national team, the Super Falcons, have been scheduled to camp in Austria for 10 days ahead of the maiden edition of the Aisha Buhari Invitational tournament which is scheduled to hold in Lagos from September 14-20, reports.

Having gained plenty of experience and exposure from their last outing at the US Summer Series in the United States, Head Coach Randy Waldrum is expected to use the period to further drill the team on his playing philosophy as they prepare for the upcoming qualifiers against Ghana in October and the 6-Nation tourney in Lagos in September.

Similarly, former Captain of the side Desire Oparanozie is also expected to make her long-expected return to the team since their second-round exit at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France, with Waldrum eyeing a mixture of youth and experience to bolster the team.

Nigeria will host the maiden edition of the Aisha Buhari Cup in September, with West African powerhouse Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa confirming their appearance. Mali and Morocco are also among the invited teams.
