Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo is set for yet another adventure in England as he is edging closer to a sensational move to Premier League returnees, Watford, ahead of the 2021/2022 season, can authoritatively confirm.

The 25-year-old spent the whole of the 2020/2021 season on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray which narrowly lost out on the league title on goal difference, with Etebo featuring in 24 games in that run.

Having now returned to parent club Stoke, the combative midfielder, who is now keen on moving his trade to a more competitive atmosphere, has however caught the eye of Spanish Coach Xisco who is poised to make the Nigerian his 6th signing of the campaign.

Watford have already signed Etebo’s fellow countryman Emmanuel Dennis from Belgium’s Club Brugge for a fee of around £3.6 million and the Hornets are now hoping to get a deal over the line for the Eagles man in the coming days.

His arrival will however swell the number of Nigerian players at the Vicarage to 5 as he joins the quartet of Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success, Dele-Bashiru, and Emmanuel Dennis.

The former Warri Wolves midfielder currently has two years left in his Stoke City deal, with the Potters now hoping to cash in as they bid to rebuild for the new Championship season.
