English sides Bournemouth and Leeds United have been drawn in a two-way battle to land former U-17 World Cup winning skipper, Kelechi Nwakali ahead of the 2021/2021 English football season, reports.

Having impressed in the second half of last season whilst on loan at Spanish side Alcorcon, the 23-year-old midfielder, who is still very much contracted to Huesca, is however attracting plenty of suitors in Europe with Marcelo Bielsa keen on adding him to his ranks next season.

With the departure of Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez in the midfield, the Argentine is very much determined to add the flair of the Nigerian to his team as they hope to build on last season’s 9th place finish in the EPL.

Leeds will however face strong competition from Championship side Bournemouth who have also eyed the former Arsenal player as a potential transfer target ahead of the new campaign.

After missing out on promotion last season, new manager Scott Parker will be hoping to add Nwakali to his ranks having already lost Nnamdi Ofoborh who joined Rangers with only Denmark midfielder Emiliano Marcondes joining the club on a free transfer last week.

Nwakali was a huge factor for Alcorcon in the 2020/2021 season as he helped the club avoid relegation from the Laliga 2, featuring in 18 games and scoring 4 goals in the process.
