Super Eagles winger, Henry Onyekuru is set to begin his preseason campaign at French club Monaco when he arrives in France this weekend ahead of the 2021/2022 season, AOIFootball.com reports.

Having started the 2020/2021 season at the Stade Louis 11, the pacy winger lost his place in the starting XI and failed to convince manager Niko Kovac before he was sent out on loan to the Turkish side Galatasaray in January.

During his spell at the Turk Telekom Stadium, the 24-year-old featured in 14 league games, starting 8 whilst scoring 5 goals, with his side narrowly missing out on the league title.

The former Everton man is now expected to resume training with his principal club as he hopes to sort out his future in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, a host of Turkish clubs are keeping tabs on the winger, with Besiktas and Fenerbahce keen on rivaling Galatasary for the signature of the winger.

It is however understood that Monaco will be keen to offload the player permanently rather than send him out on loan again, having already spent two separate loans with Galatasary since his £12.2 million switch from Everton in August 2019.
